This drawing depicts a scene from The Chronicles of Narnia – The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, written by C.S. Lewis. In the story, several brothers and sisters are enjoying their visit to a large mansion in the warm countryside of England. One day while playing hide and go seek, young Lucy decides to conceal herself in an old wardrobe.
As she made her way toward the back of the wardrobe, she finds it is much bigger than she had expected. After just a few steps, she mysteriously finds herself in a forest caught in the dead of winter. Lucy works her way toward a light in the distance, which turns out to be a lamppost. While she is busy trying to figure out what a lamppost is doing the middle of the woods, she suddenly encounters a fawn by the name of Mr. Tumnus. Poor Mr. Tumnus becomes very frightened, because in that world (Narnia) humans were thought to be mythical.
This drawing took me about 100 hours to draw. From the snow to the dropped paper bundles, there are over 14 specific items in this drawing that make the scene as close to the book as possible.
